MAKE ME LORD TO BE A TRUE MINISTER
- Make me Lord to be a true minister (of the gospel)
That will always righty divide the word of truth (with faithfulness)
That I will never mislead anyone (sinner or saint)
That may come under my authority (or my influence).
Chorus: Only by Your Spirit, Your word can be truly understood.
Only by Your Spirit, Your word can be rightly preached and taught
Only by Your Spirit Your will can be fully done on earth
Help me Lord, by Your Spirit, to handle
The Bible, properly and rightly always.
- Fill me more and more with Your Holy Ghost (Lord of harvest)
That He will make me a true student of Your word (Holy Bible)
That I will never misunderstand it (in anyway)
Nor teach it wrongly for any reason (to please my myself). -
May I never go into heresy (of any type)
That I will not take heed to doctrines of demons (your enemies)
That I will never teach Your word wrongly (at anytime)
Nor force the human ideas into it (and thus do wrong). -
Make me diligent in studying Your word (Holy Father)
May Your Spirit always give me understanding (and Your wisdom)
That I will present Your word unto men (in every place)
And compel men to bow to Your will Lord (as Your servant). -
Make me Lord first to obey my sermons (and my teachings)
That I will always be a good example Lord (to my members)
In thoughts, in words and in all my actions (all of my days)
That I will always please You in my life (until the end).
